A seasoned and passionate veteran with niche expertise in the Market Strategy & Business Development area helping to steer small enterprises and corporations to excel in their respective markets. Industry Experience for more than 25 years. Works with Government Agencies on consultancy programs. Varied and wide-ranging roles and functions within major corporations and local businesses in Strategy and Implementation projects.

 

With the added experience of co-founding & exiting a successful start-up during the downturn (2008 – 2011), actively leveraging on his personal entrepreneurial journey and share and train others as a way of contributing back to the community. Participated in seed investments across EduTech, Medicare, BioTech, Social Enterprise, Robotics Engineering, Informatics & Data Analytics, Information & Productivity Technology.

 

Active in the Entrepreneur Ecosystem working with various stakeholders to promote and encourage entrepreneurship. Coach and mentor teams from various IHLs and ACE.sg, as well as provide mentoring support for IHLs run programs such as LLP (NUS, NTU) and the LKY Global Business Plan Challenge (SMU), Inter-Vasity Entrepreneurship Challenge (NTU). Coaching and working with Alumni Startups to help them accelerate and go- to-market.

Mike has lived in Asia since 1986, including 10 years in Singapore and 10 years in China, focused on investments and projects in the energy, infrastructure and cleantech sectors. His personal mission is to find good ideas with great potential for positive impact and help them get off the ground.

He co-founded ClearWorld Energy in Beijing in 2004, to introduce technologies, finance and new business models to boost clean energy in China - the company’s carbon credit business was listed on UK AIM in 2006. Now operating ex-Singapore, Clearworld invests in clean technologies including renewable energy, water purification, new materials and sustainable processes.

Since 2015, Mike has supported the Lean Launchpad Program at NTU and NUS as team mentor, panel judge and  track instructor.

Cheong SC has 34 years experience in product creation process, product costing, financial control and the running of manufacturing, design house and technology startups from A*Star. His company was one of the recipients of the President’s Design Award 2009 for a medical device co-designed with Philips Design Singapore. He is also treasurer of the Singapore Industrial Automation Association, IOT Asia program​

committee member and review panelist in the Diagnostic Development Hub. He is passionate to share his knowledge and translate more IPs developed in Singapore into successful products in the global market.​

He is currently the co-chair for Singapore International Robo Expo 2018 (SIRE). He has done 3 iterations of starting-up for high-tech company since 2000.​

Since 2014, he has been mentoring in NUS-Lean Launch Pad, Jump-start for 7 seasons with 8 teams from NUS, A*Star and NTU. Cheong SC has 5 patents filed under his name up till to date.​​​

Eddy – currently the Managing Partner of Coffee Ventures – has invested in over 50 startups predominantly in the US, Singapore and Indonesia. Interest areas include Fintech, Healthcare, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Marketplace technologies. has invested in over 50 startups predominantly in the US, Singapore and Indonesia. Eddy relocated from Silicon Valley and co-founded Coffee Ventures to tackle unmet needs in emerging markets. The early-stage fund focuses on people development, product-market iteration, and go-to-market strategy. At Stanford University, he mentored at the StartX incubator and was formerly a consulting professor. He has also devised a medical imaging technology for visualizing stem cell migration and therapy.

 

In his early career, Eddy was also a designer for semiconductor chips at Marvell, a NASDAQ-listed Southeast Asia success story which he hopes his portfolio startups could one day emulate..

Eric is a Singapore Chartered Accountant under the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountant. He is also Singapore Certified Management Consultant certified by TUV SUD under SPRING Singapore Technical Reference 43.

 

He has extensive experience working on numerous consultancy projects with SMEs from Financial Management Consultancy to Productivity Improvement and other areas of capability developments. Most of these projects supported by Government Funding to defray cost of investment by the clients.

 

Eric started as a Senior Audit Associate with PWC and took up the position of Senior Investment Manager with SPRING SEEDS Capital; a government owned Venture Capitalist Fund. He subsequently joined two SMEs as their Finance VP and CFO respectively.
